Jalifat Books By Jusuf Buxhovi
Jusuf Buxhovi was born on August 4, 1946 in the Kosova city of Peja. He grew up in the city of Gjakova where he also finished high school. In 1968 he graduated from the University of Prishtina with a degree in Albanian language and Literature. In 1979 he earned a Masters Degree in History from the University of Prishtina. His thesis discussed archived documents found in Germany which covered the Prizren League. Jusuf's career in journalism started in 1967 with Kosova’s Rilindja newspaper, where he wrote for the cultural desk. Eventually he became editor of the entire paper. From 1976-2000 Jusuf was stationed in Bonn, Germany working as a news writer for Kosova's Rilindja newspaper.

Reception for the English translation of Kosova

Dr. Hajedin Kuçi was born in Peja, Kosova. He holds a law degree from the University of Prishtina, a Master's in International Relations from the University of Bilkent in Ankara, Turkey and a PhD's from both the University of Prishtina in Kosova, and the University of Graz in Austria. Dr. Kuçi has done further post-doctoral studies in Washington, D.C., Graz, Austria, Geneva, Switzerland, Berlin, Germany and Zagreb, Croatia.
Dr. Kuçi is Dean of the University of Prishtina, as well as a Professor in both the University of Prishtina's Faculty of Law and Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration. He has been the Director of International Relations at the University of Prishtina since 1989 and has published over 10 scientific works. In addition to his work at the University of Prishtina, Dr. Kuçi is also a professor in the Faculty of Law at SEE University in Macedonia and is an active member of Kosova's parliament where he currently holds the role of Deputy Prime Minister.

Dr. Nuhi Vinca, Ph D., born in Veleshta, Struga in the Republic of Macedonia, is an Albanian teacher, poet, scholar, and literary translator.
Vinca earned both his Master’s and Doctorate Degrees from the University of Prishtina. In 1977, he joined the Institute fo Albanian Studies in Prishtina, Kosova and quickly became a leading researcher of Albanian folklore and lyrical songs. Vinca had numerous works published in the industry review, Gjurmime Albanologjike.
Vinca is the first native of Stuga to publish a collection of contemporary poetry, Dallgë Jugu (Southern Billows), which was also one of the first Albanian literary works in the Republic of Macedonia. He has authored 12 collections of pottery which have been translated in more than six languages.
As pioneer in the education of Albanians in the former Yugoslavia, Vinca was a co-founder and teacher of the first high school in Struga. Later, he taught in Kaçanik, Kosova until the totalitarian communist regime prohibited him from teaching. Following his time in Kaçanik, he served for four years in the municipal administration of Ferizaj, Kosova.
Vinca recently retired from the Institute for Albanian Studies, but maintains an active role in both the Albanian Writers Association of Macedonia and Struga Writers Club.

Avni Spahiu is the founding head of Kosova's diplomatic mission in Washington D.C. He is a career writer, journalist, editor, scholar and translator. He is a distinguished human rights activist and in the 1980's was the U.S. correspondent for both the Kosovar daily Rilindja and RTK, Kosova's public television station. In the 1990's he co-founded the QIK news agency and the Kosovar Human Rights Council. Later he became editor-in-chief of Bujku daily newspaper. After the Kosova War, in 1999, he joined the public broadcasting center as an anchor and executive director. From 2008 to 2012, Spahiu served as the ambassador of the Republic of Kosova for the United States and is currently Kosova's ambassador in Turkey.

Faton (Tony) Bislimi was born and raised in Gjilan, Kosova. He holds honors (Summa Cum Laude) bachelor degrees in Computer Science (BS) and Mathematics (BA) from Texas Lutheran University (2005), a Master's in Public Administration and International Development from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (2007), where he was a Kennedy fellow, and an MA in International Relations from Dalhousie University (2010), as a Center for Foreign Policy Studies research fellow. He has lectured and presented at several international conferences on issues related to education, economic and social development, conflict resolution, and inter-ethnic relations. A member of many honor and academic societies in the US (such as Alpha Chi, U.S. National Scholars Honor Society, Who's Who, etc), he has also earned important academic distinctions and awards.
His work experience includes positions with major international organizations and companies - such as UNDP, RTI International, etc. He also has a passion to teach and has served as lecturer at the Victory University College in Prishtina and the American University in Kosovo. Currently, Tony is a research fellow at the Center for Foreign Policy Studies & EU Center of Excellence (Dalhousie University), and a senior fellow at the Kosovo Public Policy Center. He currently lives with his wife Nora and daughter Fiona in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he is pursuing his PhD in political science at Dalhousie University and teaching a course on Development Economics.
